Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee Season 11 Episode 11 Review
gives me hope about the futurity of (not) television
I loved this testify. I despise the unreality of "reality TV" merely this belongs, I suppose, at the edges of that genre. It also belongs at the edges of the late night talk testify genre, but with a host who engages rather than quizzes and allows guests to shill their current project...and the content here is often deeper and more interesting than the typical talk show's. The "story" is simply: Jerry picks up a comedian (or two) he is friends with, driving an amazing archetype car, and they go for coffee, sometimes a repast, and they talk.
Though of course in that location must be a crew of audio and camera people, you don't experience as if there are; yous feel every bit if you're a fly on the door handle of the car or on the diner table (some of the diners where they got coffee no dubiousness had those), eavesdropping on comic geniuses reminiscing and riffing what seems to be spontaneously on various ideas. For case, Joel Hodgson and Jerry autumn into a routine about advertising the upside-downwards ketchup bottle, Jerry playing the inferior executive with some bad news to impart, and Joel being the impatient CEO with opera tickets who wants to get going, and they are very funny. They brand each other laugh, too, and there is no sit-com reason to avoid breaking character and not express joy. So the viewer's sense is that we're sitting at a tabular array with two or three funny friends and watching them become at it, and it'southward actually enjoyable.
The final episode isn't entirely funny--it'due south damned moving. It's not only deeply philosophical at points, but shows some of the dark sides of comedy, and it moved me to tears.
Information technology strikes me that the episodes were a perfect length for what they were--you wanted more than. And there'southward something else yous can't do on Television set, eh? 22 minutes or 44, and nothing else, but a web show can be whatever length, providing different opportunities for creativity. I'chiliad usually depressed by watching network TV shows, but this show made me feel optimistic almost the future of entertainment and anxious to see what else is coming.
Terrific task, an thought that may audio odd at start blush but that worked perfectly.

Sometimes Ok, Oftentimes Cringe-Worthy
My married woman and I cherrypicked virtually 10 episodes, I experience like we got a pretty good cantankerous department. Quickly realized that the funniness of the show depends entirely on the guest and their ability to tolerate Jerry.
He often asks pointless and awkward questions which even the guests visibly blench at. Jerry doesn't really seem interested in talking near noun things with the comedians, he has rather depression regard for people he considers less funny than himself, and treats his one-act career as if he'due south Jonas Salk.
I went into this show somewhat indifferent toward Jerry Seinfeld and came out quite put off by him. The prove deserves some credit for the array of guests. The cars are cool too, despite how mind-numbingly cocky indulgent that aspect is. It really speaks to Jerry'southward personality that he combined his favourite things into a show, but the part that the audience might care nigh (asking the guests questions) frequently feels like an afterthought.

Non half as funny as it thinks information technology is
Practise you find Jerry Seinfeld funny?
No, non the 'Jerry' in 'Seinfeld', the actual man.
Because when you lookout man this you lot start to meet where the two persona's carve up.
Unfortunately, as others take said, I establish Jerry to be full of himself, and often upstaged by his guests.

The dude is and so arrogant
I'll admit I did like Seinfeld on TV. I was younger and maybe I missed something. Just when I watched this show I was amazed at how arrogant Jerry Seinfeld is. His guests are very interesting. In that location's no doubt about that, just this guy is a mean, unlikable fiddling jerk. The manner he treats anybody who is not his guests is terrible. All his humor and conversation always comes around to how he's superior and no one else gets it but that's his brunt. I'm amazed everyone likes this bear witness. Information technology baffles me. Don't y'all realize he's insulting the audience, his audience every show?

Watchable but...
I remember the concept is ok. Squeamish cars and one-act legends make it interesting. The Jazz gives it a nice urban experience. The problem with the serial is Jerry. He'southward just so big-headed and total of himself and, insofar as comedy goes, he's non that funny. Likewise many shots of coffee too. Information technology gets old fast. The segment with Mel Brooks fabricated it worth it for me though.

Petty nugget of somewhat indulgent golden.
Information technology's a novel concept and rolls stand up-up comedy, reality TV and our fascination with celebrities into one little bite-sized simply right-sized segment.
The bear witness is not constant express joy-out-loud humour and initially may announced non to live upward to the high expectations which inevitably attach to a Jerry Seinfeld venture. You might even feel torn between the want to sentry, and the unwillingness to admit that you're interested in watching a celebrity get a cup of coffee.
But drop your baby-sit, watch a few episodes, and you will realise that the creators do not intend to suggest that you have nothing better to practise than watch their mediocre moments. Rather, this show is the loving niggling side-project of someone who just wants to share their passion for cars, one-act and the subtleties of human being relations.

Self indulgent
Jerry the TV character is far more likable than Jerry the ultra rich snob who seems to loathe the masses. Doesn't anyone have the balls to tell him how ridiculous running shoes and blazers look?

Wearisome, very boring
You know when you join a couple of friends for a beverage and the two of them keep talking about people you don't know, things and situations that yous were not there... and they go along throwing internal jokes which you lot don't understand and you lot do non find it funny at all... and after 10 min you regret that joined and you get your phone, and start browsing your spam email inbox looking for something more interesting.
Well that'due south the same as watching this show.
At that place's cypher interesting, nothing is funny.

Could be improve, without Seinfeld
I remember the concept is good. The idea of having two funny people having a chat it's at least interesting. But Seinfeld, despite of his guests, he makes everything seem boring. He dresses weird (I'yard beingness kind hither) and he forces somehow conversations and y'all tin see that the guests are feeling really strange. So, forced conversations, a guy with a lot of ego who somehow he thinks he's a god, and be ready for l___a coffee everywhere equally it pops in every episode as an ad placement. Com'on, Jerry, it's non fifty-fifty espresso what you're drinking. You know information technology's just a cup of joe.

Borderline watchable
A fleck funny hither and in that location. Jerry's inflated ego, however, permeates every second of the prove, fifty-fifty when he doesn't say much. I discover it irritating. Non to mention the (often) hideous sneakers that he and then craftily tends to mismatch with the jackets.

a lot of something about nothing
It's one of the best web serial around. On every episode, Jerry Seinfeld drives a young man comedian in a car and gets java. Of form, the cars and the coffee are secondary. It'due south Jerry and friends. Near of time, it is hilarious or at to the lowest degree very funny. It's comedians shooting the breeze. Information technology'due south very rare when the testify falls completely apartment. The only one that comes to mind is Todd Barry. He's then mellow that the bear witness almost stops dead. Every show has some old story, funny bits, recalling quondam times, or theories on comedy. The names of the guests are a compelling list of who's who in comedy. It'due south 1 of the very few web series that can truly be chosen must-encounter.

Full Crap
There's so much narcissism spewing from Jerry that information technology'southward really cringeworthy to spotter his guests endeavour to agree in how uncomfortable they are. Also, bringing up homophobic jokes multiple time because of his fragile masculinity is just pathetic.
Don't waste material your fourth dimension unless y'all're the regressive conservative blazon.

Equally downward to earth as it gets
Warning: Spoilers
I'm but mildly surprised that people downrating this prove find it unfunny and find Jerry to be aloof and arrogant. I recollect it's quite the reverse. Jerry is and then downward to globe and real with his guests, that regardless of who they are, they end upwardly beingness their existent selves with him! Why? Because he talks to them in all in the same fashion. He pulls no punches, doesn't carbohydrate coat things or osculation their donkey - instead he talks to them similar you'd talk to your brother or a life-long friend. The result is a slew of guests whose true personalities shine through. That likewise means in that location'due south going to be guests that Y'all thought would be funny who aren't funny at all - Even Jerry seems surprised. But other times y'all accept guests that surprise. Jimmy Fallon lets loose and relaxes, he fifty-fifty admits he has had acrimony issues. Ellen becomes the decision-making and judgemental b*tch that confirm rumors almost her. Dave Chappell is entirely different than anyone could have predicted - introverted, germaphobic, and shy until he smokes upwardly. All of them purely themselves in an unadulterated, unfiltered show. Spending almost an unabridged 24-hour interval with someone, driving with them at close proximity, eating, and shopping in public volition expose anyone'southward true nature, eventually. I recall it works brilliantly in favor of Jerry and if yous disagree possibly you lot should watch more than filtered and calculated shows that lack spontaneity and realness.

Verdict: It was not funny either.

Jerry thinks he's better than the President
Possible Spoil Alert--This is a full general overview of Jerry Seinfeld himself. The comedians on the show brand the prove. Jerry is just the inventor of it. I would give a better rating if Jerry Seinfeld didn't have such arrogance nigh himself. At first he seems very personable just later on he makes comments to his guests that makes you wonder if he likes his fans or just 'regular' people at all. As time goes by I find myself liking Jerry Seinfeld less and less. All the same, the guests do their best and I observe myself interested in the person whether they are funny or not. The cars are somewhat interesting to someone who really doesn't care about cars but not every bit interesting equally the comedians themselves. Jerry does a skilful job doing nothing, just not great at existence humble or very interesting himself.

Stay abroad
I rarely review merely felt I had to today. Incredible guests, terrible prove. I'm sorry but this feels bad-mannered and Jerry Seinfeld does not come up across well. Comedy bits bated, it felt like I was watching people having to laugh at their Dad'south jokes while trying to ignore the bones 'I don't understand any other country than America' tone. I know it'south a giant ad chip with these golden guests, how could it go and so wrong.

I rather accept tea...
Alarm: Spoilers
I am watching this on Netflix. I picked a few episodes of the guests that I would similar to meet, simply information technology does not grow on my.
Information technology is a squeamish concept: drive in a car, go to a restaurant and drive some more in the motorcar. While doing that they are talking.
It are a few sentences and then you get or the car audio or the coffee sound which I cannot hear anymore. Information technology is a short prove, then what is the point of explaning something about a car that has no connection with the invitee? Well Jerry say it reminds him of the invitee, merely I hear nothing back on that.
I like to see the comedians in a dissimilar setting and telling anecdotes. Mostly I do not understand why Jerry is laughing like it the all-time joke made ever and also moving his arms around like throwing his head in his hands because he really cannot sit down straight of the laughing... When the guest is doing the aforementioned it is a really weird episode of who can laugh the best and there is a jury watching.
So sometimes in that location is a proficient question from Jerry, simply by and large it are weird questions, simply to provoke the invitee I think. In that location is more often than not no existent chat. It are just quotes pasted together with a car and coffee.
I also do not understand why they must talk every episode about Jerry. So if it is upward to me, please change some things about the format. Skip the details near the machine, simply drive around in a auto unless it really matters to the invitee and interview the guest delight. And ask questions that are almost never asked, just do non get me wrong, enquire deeper or more than personal questions rather then weird questions. And then I do non demand to laugh, I want to know more about the guest. But perhaps now I am getting too far of the formula. And then this program is just not for me I call up. It is too sparse and empty for me.

It says "Comedians in Cars" just Jimmy Fallon is on this "show". I'm confused
Oh WoW! Jerry Seinfeld. The obvervationlist.
After the all-time great Seinfeld and Friends show, Jerome was off the rader doing stand up-ups, doing tardily shows, The Adjourn evidence and starring in the Bee Movie.
And so came out a "bear witness" called CICGC. I love literal titles, information technology's funny. Nevertheless, this "show" is kind of ho-hum. Just watching guys talk is kind of like watching shows similar the Talk or View. Information technology's wearisome.
On each ep Jerome has various guests where they would literally talk in cars and get java. (Talk about a show about nothing).
I respect Jerome for Seinfeld and he'southward a celeb that keeps to himself. Only this evidence is wearisome. Its good to meet him from time to time after the stop of Seinfeld and Friends. Information technology's just this bear witness is non fun.
Last Words: A show virtually null. Literally.

Interesting and funny people talking to Jerry Seinfeld who conversely is not interesting or funny in this at all.
It'south similar someone saw Top Gear (which came out in 2002) and said "Whoa!! wait a infinitesimal comedy and cars is a can't miss formula!! go the biggest name in comedy and the best cars and it will just be a money machine, it doesn't even have to be whatsoever good at all."
X years later or so we got only that. Funny as the show was almost probable stolen (Christian Charles pitched the show idea to Jerry in 2002, he turned it down, and so in a stroke of genius "came up" with the idea ten years later on)
But enough about that, how about the testify...
It's a prove that has Seinfeld in it, then it's going to exist a smash no matter how poorly executed, only allow's accept an objective look at it anyway....
The "Car portion" is a claw that doesn't work. Occasionally it's part of the humour/convo but really Seinfeld just reads stuff off a queue bill of fare, and occasionally parrots some info about the cars. He'southward evidently not knowledgeable or passionate about these cars at all so the fact that they're there is meaningless for the about part. They could be replaced with near anything and it wouldn't matter other than to initially get the Superlative Gear set to try watching it (then abandoning it soon after) Information technology could be "Comedians with teapots getting a pedicure" and the evidence wouldn't really modify much (might actually improve it).
You lot expect (with Seinfeld being a vet of standup and the fact that they get to edit all they want) that the show would be full of quick one-act back and forth, but it's not. The bear witness is lackluster even later on editing information technology for just the choicest $.25.
The really sad fact is that Jerry Seinfeld needs a script, or some written material to be funny, he'south not an "On the spot" comedian. He'southward not quick witted enough for it, and that comes across in spades for his part equally interviewer/conversationalist/whatsoever. Essentially he's *Well-nigh* as funny equally Mike Wallace without any of the interview chops.
The just saving grace of the whole show is that the guests are genuinely interesting and funny, even though Seinfeld does nix simply ask the virtually formulaic, insipid, questions and when a guest finally does become started and is being funny/entertaining "on a gyre", he tries to "hop in" to the comedic banter which more often than not "puts the brakes on" the entertainment and just feels sad/awkward.
Seinfeld also comes across like having to practice this prove is a major nuisance to him. And that he has no real involvement in these people (fifty-fifty the supposed close friends) From the opening of the first episode to the final credits of the terminal, he ever seems like he'south forcing any show of mock interest and you lot tin see it fade/disappear quickly frequently. He'd rather be doing 2000 other things and it shows and/or he just doesn't care, either manner it's non engaging to me equally a viewer and I find myself often wishing someone else was hosting the same show.
I went into this thinking Seinfeld wouldn't go into something like this unless information technology was a 100% certain affair, and I honestly idea he would have a lot of fun with it and with his proper noun/clout/greenbacks expectations, information technology might be genuinely entertaining outside of the formulaic sit com type arena. Unfortunately while his proper name may ensure flavor later flavor of filming based on the dice hard fans lonely, the quality of the content simply isn't in that location. At the finish of information technology all what I learned is that Jerry Seinfeld isn't someone I would even want to talk to, let lone accept coffee or a drive with, and that watching other people (fifty-fifty really entertaining people) take to endure him isn't much ameliorate (even with really interesting cars in the mix).
Just go watch Peak Gear (I may throw up a little every bit I blazon this,..) even Height Gear America is more entertaining by and large.

Painful-- like watching a cooking show when you have the stomach flu.
Get live your own life, or please, spotter something entertaining.
Cars - The cars look nice, just not much attention is paid to them besides watching them get stuck in traffic in every episode... it is all besides realistic and uninspiring.
Comedy - is very absent-minded, as well the fact that these people are career comedians! The jokes and laughter make my stomach plow and I feel embarrassed for them as it all seems very forced. It would be amend to hear more of their stories, rather than Jerry or the guests trying to prove they are funny. Nigh of this is reflected in Jerry's performance-- simulated human knee slapping for his guests, merely too expecting them to laugh at his. Y'all can sense of taste the sour awkwardness in your mouth.
Coffee- Is an afterthought... Not only is information technology non discussed, they are getting plain erstwhile brown water at mostly "classic" diners, and and so y'all volition see many montages of beans grinding, shot pulling, steam wands, and pouring... over and over and over... It is tiring and non needed at all, seeing as what is beingness sipped is straight out of the Bunn drip brewer...

Very disappointing
I felt like Jerry is trying to repeat the idea of "bear witness almost nothing" just failed miserably. Information technology is boring majority of the times and lacks depth. There were huge opportunities to enquire some meaningful questions to comedians to larn more than near their lives but the conversations were very shallow. The jokes are lame and you can run into how simulated Jerry'south laughs are majority of the fourth dimension. As well, at that place is a condescending attitude in many scenes towards the ordinary people they come across where they brand fun of them. Overall, information technology but felt like a rich powerful comedian having the ability to meet all these famous people to make some other show about zero.

Comedians telling anecdotes
First of all this show is all about two comedians(rarely accompanied by a 3rd guest) telling each others anecdotes mostly regarding one-act biz and having conversations that remind us the ones Jerry and George were having in the Seinfeld. The concept of driving to go a coffee and the java identify are simply the stage of the show where the comedians have their conversations. The cars and the coffee places are non really the subjects of the show. And then practise non expect great deal of information nearly the cars. Jerry tells virtually the cars and then picayune as to make a mere introduction of the machines they are going to enjoy equally role of the 24-hour interval. As a Turkish person who lives in Turkey where the comedy is fabricated past few people and mostly with poor taste, i really admire American comedy which is very rich with its many comedians and concepts and i still find this bang-up one-act culture. This shows brings a lot of immature comedians and legends to screen(of the net) and they tell amazing stories in the tone of a friendly, casual get- together. A swell example of one of these moments in the testify, was when Jimmy Fallon told an anecdote about Jack Nicholson and Cracker Jacks. The concept of the prove is very smart for revealing these moments. In this sense, it is similar to a belatedly night talk prove only it is more relaxed and the guests are exclusively comedians. Very entertaining and original. i hope to run across many seasons of this evidence, with comedians like Larry David, Louis CK, Ricky Gervais and Jimmy Fallon reappearing along with legends.

Real interaction, keen content.
Starting time off, I dearest how the car is intuitively matched to the subject. Information technology's hilarious because an inanimate object is worth a thousand words.
Jerry has phenomenal access to these guys and tin can relate as a professional peer. How often practise you lot go to listen in on that type of chat? These guys are giants and might take been around the block a few times. I think that's incredible. I especially enjoyed Bob Einstein's episode and Larry David'southward incognito moves in the diner.
Something that came to listen for me was how squeamish it is to run across someone stay true to who they are and what they think is funny. It's also good to see comedians sussing out what exactly is funny virtually something, finding the funny or post-obit the game as kids say nowadays.
I wouldn't mind seeing expanded versions, or repeat visits to some of these people.
Overall it'south some of the best webseries content I've always seen. I bask real talk (Dinner For 5 with Jon Favreau would be another show) and tin't expect to see more episodes of this online.
